Have you ever felt like something is attacking your brain again and again in order to burst it? Have you ever felt your heart beating rapidly that you feel scared for a moment thinking you might die? Have you ever felt your body giving up when you actually needed it the most at that moment? Have you ever felt so afraid that you just want to sit back in the corner and close your eyes, deny seeing the truth not wanting to feel anything, just to make sure if you can survive further or not?
Have you ever felt lonely? Gave you ever felt depressed? I Have.
These all problem was connected to my mental health but I didn’t visit a doctor. Do you know why? Because I’m not a mental patient and so you are right?
But little do we all know that we all are facing mental health problems and we all should consult a doctor. Want to know how?
We all are growing up and changes are made in life like switching schools, entering college/university or getting a job. These all changes are talking all of our brain and adding to the pressure there is social activeness where we all goes through embracing moments or keeping up with the pace.
These all changes are stressing us out leading us further to mental illness which is most of the time unrecognized and people are unaware.
To aware the unaware and makes our problems recognized world health organization WHO celebrates World Mental Health day WMHDay on 10th of October every year.
The day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health matter to talk about their work and what more to be done for it.
The day started celebrating from year 1996 and is continuous till now discussing different topics every year relating mental health.
2018 topic is “young people and mental health in a changing world”.
In today’s world changes are made in seconds: changes in mobile software, changes in design, changes in application, changes in studies etc. these all changes are taking a big piece from our peaceful mind filling it up with distress, quick actions, thinking, anxiety etc.
It’s all creating a burden on our brain and brain also needs rest it needs peace which we don’t allow by making it function all day, stressing it out and when the brain stress out it creates health problems. Diabetes is one of them.
So when mental health is so important how can we make our mind stable? Rewind our brain in a healthy state? Well… where there is will there is a way.
To improve your mental health you have to:
Involve in physical and mental exercises:
for physical exercise a 30 minutes jog or some stretching would be enough and for mind exercise you can play healthy games like chess, scrabble, cube, dogging word etc. These exercises will make you focus n present and what you are doing which will release the stress and tension you have been providing your brain with.
Maintain your diet and physical health:
are you eating your food right? How much calories you should intake? You are not over eating right? Ask these questions to yourself and make your proper diet plan and follow it. Check your blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol level on monthly basis or yearly to be physically healthy. When you will be physically healthy the flow of blood to your brain will be good and it gets the power to overcome problems. In short making your body healthy will make your brain healthy.
Let your emotions out:
for a good mental health I think this point is more important. If you are bottling up your worries, problems it will lead you to worse.
Share your worries, your problems, things that are hurting you to people who won’t judge rather help. Like siblings, Parents, Friends and remember being the one trusty for other people who faces mental health problems and have no one to let out.
Everybody needs to feel as if someone is there to talk to when dealing with mental health and when you feel there is no one, Don’t care for being judged for visiting a doctor (psychologist). Remember your fitness is most important and most needed for you first.
Many times in life without knowing I have tackled down my mental problems with the help of these solutions. Have you also done that too? Or you will be one who will try?
