Introduction
Inflammatory bowel disease can be divided into two long-term inflammatory disorders of the stomach tract i.e. crohn’s disease and ulcerative-colitis
Crohn disease affect any part of the gastrointestinal-tract while on the other hand ulcerative-colitis affects the colon and rectum only!!
About treatment goals
Present available treatment for IBD is not curative!
Considerable reasons behind IBD
Environmental causes
High fat intake like fast food ingestion, fat enriched milk and higher amount of protein energy intake are considerable dietary aspect related with it, link between the ingestion of refined carbohydrates and crohn disorder are evaluated on the basis of case control studies foodstuff which aggregate or aggravated symptoms for example Milk or spice-rich foods 1 to 5% of patients with ulcerative-colitis improve by excluding cow’s milk in their diet!
Crohns diorder improve if they start to take elemental that is amino acid and whole protein seeds,
Smoking
Higher rate of smoking among patient with crohns disorder done in the general population 40% of patient with the disorder being a smoker!
smoking increase the risk of relapse and the need for surgery, fewer patients with ulcerative-coliotis are smoker, moreover 10% formal smokers are at the highest risk of developing ulcerative-colitis then ongoing smokers!
Myobacterium Tuberclosis
It considered as a causative agents of crohn disorder and ulcerative-colitis, it may present after an episode of infective diarrhoea!
Enteric microflora plays a vital role in development of IBD because the guard at as sensitizing organ that contribute to the systemic immunologic-response, patient with diabetes show a loss of immunological tolerance to intestinal microflora and as a result, antibiotic often play a role in the treatment of IBD manipulating the intestine and by using probiotics, prebiotics and symbiotic has been proven to be an effective therapeutic strategy to control IBD
probiotic alter the intestinal microflora balance favorably, prebiotic stimulate the growth of specific beneficial microorganisms in the colon while symbiotic a combination of both prebiotic and probiotic successfully used nowadays
Medicines
Drugs such as diclofenac have been reported to exacerbate iBD results from direct inhibition of the synthesis of cytoprotective-agents, antibiotic may also precipitate is relapse of disease due to change in the indirect microflora!
Risk of developing crohns disease is thought to be increase in women taking the oral contraceptive
Appendectomy
It has shown a protective effect in both crohn’s disorder and ulcerative-colitis patient
