Pakistan is suffering a great water crisis is mainly due to a shortage of dams in Pakistan or most of the dams are being dry like Rawal dam. In the last 10 years, the need for water is increased very well. But unfortunately, the government didn’t take this matter too seriously and worked on foolish or dumbest projects like green line bus project in Karachi and an orange line train or metro bus project in Lahore. You can clearly see the difference between these highly orange project or lower, damaged buildings around this route.
Here is a question arises, whats more important during these days in Pakistan? obviously, basic needs like water, electricity, health facilities or food are more important. Chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar recently open an account in the private bank and appeal to the people of Pakistan to donate for dams. Approximately 38 crores have collected till now. Overseas Pakistani also donated for dams. One more reason for the lack of water is INDUS BASIN TREATY, which is water distribution agreement between India and Pakistan. In this agreement, three rivers of 60 million acre-feet given to India or the remaining three river irrigation system has given to Pakistan of 80 million acre-feet. But India has a greater flow of water when the condition of flood occurs India flow this flooded condition in Pakistan or sometimes stop these flow which results in a shortage of water.
