The newly elected president of United States, Donald Trump questioned people of the country who marched in demonstration against his presidency on Saturday, inferring to Women’s March protestors.
Trump, who took an oath as US President on Friday, Twitted that he is in line with peaceful protests but disapproved the celebrities who took to the streets to join the protests.
“Watched protests yesterday but was under the impression that we just had an election! Why didn’t these people vote? Celebs hurt cause badly,” He tweeted.
“Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don’t always agree, I recognize the rights of people to express their views,” He added.
People from all over the US and other parts of the world held demonstrations to show unity with the huge Women’s March in Washington, which seemingly saw more than 2 million people in different US cities.
Not just this, more than 630 events also took place in different European, Asian and African cities, where the people protested for Trump leadership to support women’s rights and evade discrimination from racial factions and immigrants in the country.
