Verizon claimed that it has successfully tested the 5G technology on its Moto Z3 phone and the smartphone is now officially the world’s first commercially available 5G device in the mobile world. The company announced that it has conducted a world’s first 5G data transmission on a commercial 3GPP 5G NR network and believes it is a big step forward in the world of 5G technology as it was possible to execute web browsing and make a video call using a 5G upgradable smartphone – Moto Z3.
A Twitter post confirmed the news to Verizon customers and shows the device has been successfully connected to the 5G network but only via a status bar icon.

5G Connectivity was tested via video calling and internet browsing, but people are asking the company to conduct a few proper speed tests to check the real juice of the technology. Verizon’s 5G service is limited to only a few cities of the US.
Bill Stone, Vice President, Technology Development and Planning for Verizon said, “This successful test, using an actual smartphone, widens our lead, We will be the first to offer a 5G upgradeable smartphone on our network in 2019.”
