A mobile phone of the wife of Hungarian ambassador was stolen at a Serena hotel in Islamabad.
According to reports, Emilia Slabo filed an FIR at the Secretariat Police Station about her stolen mobile phone. She said that her mobile phone was stolen on October 26 during an event at Serena Hotel, Islamabad.
As per the complaint she lodged, the Slabo informed the police that she had kept her mobile phone on the table and went to use the toilet. But, when she got back to her seat the mobile phone was missing.
The police officials said that the department was trying to find out the culprit with the help of CCTV footage, however, reportedly there are not any CCTV cameras fitted inside the halls of the hotel. However, the police department is further trying to find the mobile through its IMEI number. In this regard, the hotel staff is also being investigated.
In September, a CCTV was aired by a number of national TV channels showing a bureaucrat of 20th grade stealing a wallet of a Kuwaiti official in Islamabad. The officer was suspended after the CCTV video exposed him stealing the wallet. It happened after a meeting between a Kuwaiti delegation and Pakistani government officials.
After video of the went viral, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry suspended Zarrar Haider on disciplinary grounds for stealing the wallet and ordered an investigation against him.
