YES GUYS, THIS KARACHITE GIRL HAS PROVEN THAT WHEN YOU PRACTICE YOUR DREAMS, IT BECOMES YOUR PASSION THAT KNOWS NO LIMITS, NO BOUNDARIES, NO TIREDNESS, AND NO FEAR OF SOCIAL OUTCAST. HER PASSION WAS TO BECOME AN EVENT MANAGER AND NOW SHE HAS STARTED ACHIEVING HER DREAMS.
I know all of you have seen the blockbuster hit movie “BAND BAJAA BARAAT” and all were awestruck in your conscious by the tomboy, ambitious, going against the norms type of girl character of shruti kakkad played by “ANUSHKA SHARMA”
But, now I am going to introduce you to “RAHIMA SHEIKH”. A girl example in her own self, breaking the typical stereotypes of our so-called society’s most famous dialogue: “ LOOG KYA KAHENGE BETA”
Yes, guys we all know this dialogue that has murdered a lot of dreams.
But rahima took a stand not against it but managed to go with the norms of society with her own way, following her passion as well.
So, she is a 5th semester student, studying food science from “JINNAH UNIVERSITY FOR WOMEN” and her passion and work is “EVENT MANAGEMENT”
Kind of strange right? That she is studying food sciences and her passion is event management? Here is a short written interview of her taken by the author that’s me.
INTERVIEW OF ENTREPRENEUR EVENT MANAGER:
Me: so, assalam-u-alaikum, rahima. How are you? Will you tell our readers a little bit about you?
Rahima: walaikum-assalam, yes I will surely, I am fine, I am a student at J.U.W (Jinnah university for women), doing bachelors in food sciences major, currently studying in 5th semester.
Me: so, why event management? And if so then why you studying food science like isn’t it kind of a diplomatic thing? K khena kuch pasand kuch or krna kuch aur?
Rahima: aaaaaa, hahaha, no yar the thing is that our parents have a typical mindset towards genders acquiring education, it like a constant that a boy must be in a engineering related studies whilst the girls should be in medical or biosciences or life sciences. I never wanted to study food sciences but then however got enrolled into it. So yeah here I am studying food sciences. But at the same time practicing my passion that’s event management.
Me: so when and why did you start doing event management? Did you started doing it just for fun as a hobby or were other financial reasons were involved?
Rahima: it was my passion to be an event planner but yes some problems were there my father was jobless for some time so I asked my parents and discussed with them that as a part time activity I need to do this. It was the year 2015, may I started working on my first event which was birthday, it had a budget of 25 thousand rupees from which my profit was only 3 thousand rupees.
Me: really? Three thousand profit well it not too much but it was your start, and I have heard 40 men work under your supervision who are amongst at the ages of 35-40? How do you manage them? You are a teenager and they listen to your orders?
Rahima: I wanted to start the work, so I thought f the requirement of labor first so I work for an organization through some networking I got these laborers, and yes they obey me, my orders, you just need to make a line and discipline amongst your employees. If even your are working with your cousin let him know these are the limits and I am here to only work with you.
Me: your message to entrepreneur girls?
Rahima: mind your own business; focus on your goals, no matter what the people say, no matter what the society says, if you won’t let anyone cross the line no man will ever dare to do so.
Me: so if you in the future, get high level, elite class event management have your any future plans for that?
Rahima: no I don’t plan to do work for elite class events, my main focus and area of work is to provide all the things to our middle class family events, mostly like a girl wishes her weddings events, mayoun-mehndi or bridal shower t be like, and I provide all that in their own budget. I make their wish come true.
Me: so rahima the most average budget you will work for and details for our readers, if they might be willing to ask you for a birthday, bridal shower or any other event?
Rahima: I have arranged many birthday parties, one mayoun event, and bridal showers as well, and I have worked with an average of 4 to 5 thousand rupees of budget, food is not included in every event. For food a separate budget is needed by the customer. But I assure that quality of management is never sacrificed either high budget or low we make your guest happy and amused.
NOTE: please feel free to contact Rahima Sheikh for any event management queries and try her artistic work on your upcoming birthdays, parties, bachelor parties, and marriage.
