Karachi named as the 6th cheapest city in the world by the Economist Intelligence Unit.
EIU’s ranked Karachi after comparing the price of 150 items to between different cities. Thus, among the 133 cities, Karachi ranked at 6th,
New Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai are also listed among the top 10 cheapest locations this year. They were joined by Lagos, Caracus, Damascus, Almaty, Bucharest and Algiers.
However, the report also tells that Almaty, Algiers, Karachi are all facing the economic, political, security and infrastructural challenges, in addition, simply cheaper cities also tend to be less livable.
However, Singapore was ranked as the world’s most expensive city to live.
Europe continues to be expensive — Paris, Oslo, Copenhagen, Geneva and Zurich appeared in the top 10.
In Asia, Hong Kong and Seoul featured in the top 10 most expensive cities. An outer side of Asian and Europe, only Sydney was listed in top 10 of the list.
