Here comes one of the most talked about subject of this era. Feminism. The definition of feminism varies individual to individual. Different people has different perspective about feminism, Some think that it is about equal rights of both sexes others think of it as women empowerment, while some take it as a subject of homosexuality. Everyone has different concepts about it.
Feminist is any person who believes in feminism and feminism is, well, it is a complicated subject.
“I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express believes that distinguish me from a doormat.” -Rebecca West
Feminism assisted women get the vote, obtain equal rights for jobs, made laws to control domestic violence, help women secure the rights to own property, to divorce, to have access to birth control and to have possession of their own bodies. So feminism gave females a power and strengthened them to face the world.
So what is FEMINISM actually? For me, feminism is to support women rights. No gender equality, no equal responsibilities. Being a feminist doesn’t mean that you have to hate men. No. Being a feminist doesn’t mean you have to live single or you can’t be with a guy. It is just about knowing and asking your rights and supporting them. Feminism unites women against those who do not believe in the rights of women. Still there are many places in the world where women are forced to live a life worst than an animal. They don’t even know if there is anything like RIGHTS. Many women don’t get justice because they don’t know their rights and of course when you don’t know about your rights you won’t ask them. This is why we all should be feminists.
“I call myself a feminist. Isn’t that what you call someone who fights for women rights? -The Dalai Lama XIV
