At present, We live in the age of 4th industrial revolution (4iR) and the world around us is changing its shape very very fast. There is a growing feeling today that there is something seriously wrong with our system of education. What is it?
We send our children to schools to prepare them for today’s fast-changing world so that they can compete with challenges they will be facing in their coming life, whereas schools are still following the same methods that they have been for hundreds of years. Funny! Isn’t it? In fact, academic researchers agree that the system that is in place at schools today was designed to train factory workers and is based on industrial age values.
That means, our kids are in the hands of those who are not sure what the world will look like after a decade. What will be the challenges that these kids will be facing when they step into the job market. One can easily see how dramatically the world has changed in the past few 10-20 years due to the use of technology, however, We have not upgraded our schooling and preparing our children for skills that will not be required when they complete their schools. What else can be more serious than this alarming issue which has greatly been overlooked by the whole education machinery?
I will be dedicating few hours of my day on the subject and will shed more light on the issue.
