Yesterday, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Ali Alizada met with Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain and said that Azerbaijan is willing to provide $100 million credit to Pakistan to solve its energy issues. The Ambassador also offered the supplying of oil and oil products to Pakistan to meet the energy needs of the country.
He also showed his keen interest to strengthen ties with Pakistan in the fields of media and information along with a special and formal collaboration between state-run televisions of both countries.
Information Minister Fawad Hussain welcomed Azerbaijan’s offer and interest to address Pakistan’s energy issues. He said that Pakistan also wants to increase bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan in the tourism sector besides in the fields of media and information.
“Pakistan has unique tourist destinations especially in Northern areas and we will also want that Azeri tourist to come and enjoy the scenic beauty of these areas”, said the minister.

Fawad said Pakistan gives great importance to its relations with Azerbaijan as Pakistan was among the first three countries that recognized the independence of Azerbaijan. The Minister also mentioned the beauty of Baku and how much the region is popular in Pakistan. He said it is the time to start direct flights Pakistan and Azerbaijan to facilitate the citizens.
While the Ambassador invited the minister to attend the Baku International Humanitarian Forum starting in the last week of October. He further added President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev greatly valued his country’s relationship with Pakistan, adding, “We also support Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir.”
