AWARENESS SEMINAR ON HOW TO AVOID ORAL DISEASES & CANCER BY DR. QURRATULAIN KAMIL
On 1st October, 2018 Jinnah University for women Microbiology Society arranged a seminar on MAINTAINANCE OF ORAL TO AVOID ORAL DISEASES AND ORAL CANCER which was conducted by DR. QURRATULAIN KAMIL (BDS, RDS, C-ortho, and MBA in health management). She is the member of Pakistan dental association and honorary member at Dar –ul –Sukun.
The goal of this seminar was to increase awareness about how to maintain oral hygiene to avoid many oral diseases including oral cancer. Chairperson of Jinnah University for women Microbiology department, senior faculty members and enormous number of students were participated in the seminar.
Dr. Quratulain Kamil started the seminar by telling that how much the oral hygiene is important for any individual then she added the ways of our holy prophet of maintaining dental hygiene.
She also tells participants about the diet they should take to maintain their oral health which leads from the protection of their tooth and gums as well their whole body because somehow our body is connected to oral heath especially our stomach. She added that eating bread and French fries are more harmful than eating sweets and chocolates because they contain more carbs.
She also aware the audience with the right way of brushing their tooth, she said the one should brush two times a day, that is before going to bed and after eating breakfast. Further she said that we should use toothpaste instead of gels because toothpaste contains fluoride and the toothpaste we use should produce froth. The right amount of toothpaste is one fourth of the whole brush.
She also aware the participants with the adverse effects of tobacco consumption which is common mostly in men. Tobacco can cause many diseases including oral cancer which can spread to other body parts the lymph, tonsils and other and consumption of tobacco can be deadly.
Later on vote of thanks was presented to Doctor Quratulain Kamil by the member of JUW Microbiology society Miss Rehma Azhar and then Dr Quratulain Kamil was awarded with the shield for conducting the seminar by Miss Mehmooda, Professor Dr. Aijaz Rasool and the president of Microbiology society Miss Mahnoor Khan.
